Here is a list of just a few of the many attractions situated within easy access of the site: BeachesThe area has a stunning selection of beaches from the Gower Peninsular round to Pendine Sands and beyond into Pembrokeshire. Carmarthenshire’s jewel in the crown is Pembrey Country Park with its huge expanse of Cefn Sidan beach. The Country Park has many facilities for the family apart from the lovely beach, you will find woodland walks and amusements for the children, large and small including a dry ski slope and toboggan run.WalkingThe area offers gentle walks in the many country parks or the Millennium Coastal Path, through to strenuous mountain walking in the Black Mountain and Brecon Beacons. Brecfa Forest also offers a range of walking opportunities.GardensCarmarthenshire is called the Garden of Wales for good reasons. The National Botanic Garden of Wales is set in 500 acres and offers a variety of outdoor planting, the Great Glasshouse and a new hothouse. A more compact hidden gem is Aberglasney Gardens with stunning gardens and the unique Nympharium. If these are not enough there are plenty more to choose from.CyclingThe Millennium Coastal Path is ideal for a gentle ride on level, well maintained paths or you can opt for the more exhilarating mountain bike trails in the Brechfa Forest and Afan Forest Park. Between these two extremes are many trails or routes using country roads, but be aware, we are not short of hills!!!WildlifeRiver View Touring Park itself is a haven for wildlife, but if you want more the the National Wetlands Centre for Wales and the Kite Feeding centre both offer excellent opportunities. Alternatively, you could take a boat to see seals and the birdlife on Skomer Island.FishingRiver View Touring Park has its own river Gwili and you are welcome to try your luck with our trout. Close by there are opportunities for river and lake fishing. Two of the local lakes, Spring Waters and Shimano, are very well respected. Also accessable from the site are the Towy, Cothi and Teifi rivers, which offer some excellent salmon and sea trout fishing. For the occasional fishermen there are several well stocked trout lakes.Something Indoors...There are several swimming pools nearby, the most exciting being the Leisure Centre in Swansea, with a full compliment of wave machines and water chutes plus much more.Near the LC in Swansea is the National Waterfront Museum or further afield is St Fagan’s National Museum (www.musueumwales.ac.uk) which needs a full day. Other museums and attractions celebrate the diverse history and culture of the area. You could tickle the taste buds by visiting the Pemberton Chocolate Farm or Penderyn Distillery, the Dan-yr-Ogaf Showcase and Dinosaur Park are other good options or there are several castles and National Trust properties that are well worth visiting, even when the weather is good.
